Congratulations to Serena Williams!  Today she earned her 500th career singles victory, defeating Barbora Zahlavova Strycova of the Czech Republic in straight sets -6:0, 6:4 at the 2012 Australian Open.

Serena injured her ankle while playing a tournament in Brisbane a few weeks ago, and informs that although it's not 100%, she is feeling good on court.

Serena will face Greta Arn of Germany in the third round on Friday.  This will be the first meeting between the two.  Greta is currently ranked #92 in the world.
